If illness, injury, age or disability affect you or a loved one, and a hospital stay isn’t the best solution, our Community Care @ Home programme offers individualised care in the comfort of home surroundings. We work from our offices in Pinelands (covering the greater Cape Town area).
The CC@H programme matches you to a Care Worker you can trust. We have trained most of these Carers ourselves at our Training Centre. Robin Trust’s experienced trainers and tutors offer in-depth theory and months of practical experience under our careful supervision, while getting to know each Care Worker personally.

Registered with the Board of Healthcare Funders and many of SA’s large medical aid schemes, the Care @ Home programme offers flexible, nurse-led, individualised care to patients with a range of healthcare needs.

Individualised care, support with daily activities, companionship, compassion, the 24-hour support of a team of nurses and a highly professional service. Our trained Carers are individually matched to the patient’s needs and are provided with care plans that are specific to each patient.

Our Commitment to Quality

We monitor the quality of our service through on-going patient and family feedback, quarterly Care Worker performance reviews and feedback discussions, monthly home visits and ongoing skills training for our Care Workers. We talk to our Care Workers, our patients, their families and healthcare providers regularly throughout the week.

Professional Support

Our Care @ Home Programme is staffed by both Registered and Enrolled Nurses, who complete assessments, develop care plans, provide support to patients and Care Workers, and refer patients onto a network of support services – including referrals to our own or other facilities as needed.

What you can Expect


Right from your first call to the Robin Trust Community Care @ Home placements team you can expect service that is caring and personal. Our placement team carefully listens to your needs and matches each patient with a Care Worker who suits their needs and personality.
Every Robin Trust Community Care @ Home Care Worker is reliable, screened and expertly trained. They are also supported by a dedicated team of agents who help them stay on time and communicating clearly with their clients.
Our team of Carer Workers is also supported by a qualified nurse who advises and supports each Care Worker. Care Workers can rely on the extensive experience of these nurses 24/7.

Frequently Asked Questions


How long does it take to assign a Care Worker to a patient?

Once an enquiry is received for care, one of the nurses goes out and completes a patient assessment. A fee is payable for this before care is confirmed. If care is to be for an extended period and for 24 hour care, a deposit is also payable before care commences. We try to set up care as quickly as possible taking into consideration the patient’s condition and the availability of our Care Workers.

Do all Robin Trust Care Workers come with references?

All Robin Trust Care Workers are employees of Robin Trust, so we stand as their references. Robin Trust interviews and checks the references of every Care Worker that we employ. Robin Trust will manage any issues with the Care Worker in line with normal employment processes.

Are Care Workers able to clean and cook too?

Robin Trust clearly outlines a Care Worker’s duties and this can include basic housekeeping and basic meal preparation. However, our Care Workers are not domestic workers or child minders, so cannot fulfill that role while caring for a patient.

Do Care Workers have to live-in?

No. Depending on the care that is required, two or more Carers may be assigned to a patient on a rotational basis, especially if 24-hour care is needed. The client is not required to provide a bedroom for the Care Worker.

Do I provide meals for the Care Worker?

No, our Care Workers provide their own meals. Clients are encouraged to provide tea and coffee and access to facilities for meals to be heated up on each shift.

Do medical aids cover the cost of Care Workers?

Many medical aids cover the cost of Care Workers, but this is subject to medical aid rules and tariffs.
