Robin Trust’s Sub-acute and Rehab Unit
Robin Trust’s sub-acute facility is nestled at the foot of the majestic Table Mountain in the tranquil Oude Molen Eco Village in Pinelands. Our sub-acute facility is managed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals prioritising each client’s medical rehabilitation and recuperation.
Our facility and approach
Our 18-bedded unit comprises of 2 private rooms with en-suite bathrooms and 4 four-bedded rooms. Located minutes from Cape Town, the tranquil, farm-like surrounds provide the ideal environment to rest, recuperate and get back on your feet.
Our new larger physio room overlooks the garden, providing the ideal space to receive treatment in a relaxed and calm environment.
We provide 24-hour, individualised, holistic care with a multi-disciplinary team approach. Each client is assessed, and an individualised care package is created to ensure optimal recovery.
Our team comprise of a Medical Doctor, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Psychologist, Dietician and Social Worker who meet once a week and collaborate to create and implement the best care plan for each client for optimal recovery.
Clients usually stay between five to ten days, but their stay can be extended by the team of medical professionals if needed.

Admission Process
We have a 4-step process to admit clients into our sub-acute facility:
- Request your doctor to send Robin Trust a letter of motivation for admission.
- Robin Trust will send a registered nurse to the patient’s hospital bed to assess their needs.
- On admission, the length of stay is determined with the physiotherapist, medical doctor and relevant medical aid.
- A tailor-made care package is designed for each client with reference to the multi-disciplinary team.
Award-winning care
In 2015 the Robin Trust Sub-Acute facility was awarded the Discovery Health CCP Award for having the lowest 30 day re-admission rate in the country throughout the prior year.
In 2016 we celebrated again as the facility was announced the national winner of the CCP Patient Satisfaction Award.
