Care@Home

Robin Trust was born out of a passion to offer the most compassionate and competent care at home. We’ve been training and assigning carers for almost 30 years.
Care at Home

Professional care in the comfort of your own home

If illness, injury, aging, or disability affect you or a loved one, and a hospital stay is not the best solution, our Care@Home agency offers personalised homebased care. Our Care@Home programme is staffed by registered and enrolled nurses who complete assessments, develop personalised care plans and provide support to clients and carers. Our Care@Home agency meticulously matches each client with a suitable carer. Most of our carers have been trained in Robin Trust’s Homebased Care College under careful supervision where we got to know each carer personally. Our care services include 24-hour compassionate care by our professionally trained carers, support of daily activities and companionship. All our carers are further overseen and supported by a professional nurse on call 24/7. This includes a home visit by one of our professional nurses from time to time. When needed, clients are referred to a network of support services.

Our commitment to quality

We monitor our quality of service carefully through on-going client and family feedback. We conduct quarterly carer performance reviews and feedback discussions, monthly home visits and ongoing skills training for our carers. Weekly or bi-weekly communication with clients, families and other health care providers are encouraged to keep loved ones updated. Carers have an open line of communication with the support staff in the office.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is care giving services covered by medical aid?

This depends on your medical scheme rules and tariffs. Robin Trust is registered with the Board of Healthcare Funders and many of South Africa’s medical schemes. Depending on each client’s medical aid plan, our practice number allows clients to claim back from their medical aid funds where cover applies for Care@Home services. Kindly contact your medical aid to confirm if care services are covered by your medical plan.

How soon after consultation is a carer assigned to a client?

Within 24 hours of receiving an enquiry a carer can be assigned provided an assessment was done at a fee and a deposit paid.

Do all carers have a reference?

All Robin Trust carers are employees of the Robin Trust Care@Home agency and we stand as their reference. Where there are exceptions, interviews and reference checks are carried out in line with the normal employment process.

Do carers provide cooking and cleaning assistance?

Carers can assist with basic housekeeping and meal preparation, but their primary role is patient care.

Do carers have to live in?

A carer will only live in on request of the client.

Do I provide meals for the carer?

Our carers provide their own meals, but clients are encouraged to provide tea and coffee and access to facilities for meals to be heated up on each shift.
