Chief Executive Officer
Robin Trust is seeking to appoint a CEO to lead the organisation as well as to design, develop and implement strategic plans for the organisation. The Trustees of Robin Trust believe these plans will focus on facilitating an increase in the quantity of carers and improved quality of home-based care in the Western Cape and beyond, through collaborative partnerships with key players in the sector.
BACKGROUND
Robin Trust is a trusted healthcare enterprise with nearly 30 years of experience, and a strong Christian ethos of care. We specialize in two core areas: Care Services and Home-Based Care Training. Our services are complemented by a sub-acute or step-facility and a dementia care unit located at the Oude De Molen precinct. Currently, we provide services through over 350 carers in hundreds of homes and facilities, and employ over 50 other permanent employees at our facilities in Cape Town. Our innovative business model provides compassionate care and high-quality healthcare education while addressing critical needs in the healthcare industry. The Trust currently generates sustainable income to finance the operations and training without dependence on donor income. We are poised to expand the services of Robin Trust and are looking to build collaborative partnerships with others within Health Care and other relevant sectors.
THE CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
Are you interested in applying for the position of CEO at Robin Trust? To qualify, you will need to have:
- A passion for and interest in health care and creating dignified work for all.
- A working knowledge of private and public healthcare systems.
- A relevant qualification (medical sector experience very advantageous) with a minimum of 8-10 years’ general management level experience, preferably within the health care and development/NPO sector.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in developing and interpreting a strategic vision into operational models.
- A proven track record of leading, motivating and inspiring multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent business development, marketing and networking skills.
- Proven fundraising and partnership development and engagement capacity.
- Proven development, implementation and monitoring and evaluation capabilities.
- High levels of empathy, emotional intelligence and the ability to inspire others in challenging environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Working knowledge and understanding of financial systems, excellent computer literacy on MS Office.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Strategic vision and leadership for Robin Trust, including the integration of the vision, mission and culture in all aspects of our work, working with and reporting to the Board of Trustees. Robin Trust is looking to expand its work and increase in scale – the new CEO will lead this process.
- Overall oversight of all services and human resources including appointment and management of human resources, particularly the staff leadership team, inspiring, motivating, mentoring, coordination, and capacity building.
- Key stakeholder relationships and business development through partnerships and networks with strategic partners, creating and sustaining pipelines for new business and models to build impact, scale and resilience.
- Financial oversight and sustainability, focusing on community and growth of services for the consistent inflow of revenue, overseeing the financial status of the organisation, and long and short-term financial plans, monitoring the budget, and ensuring sound financial controls are in place; setting financial priorities accurately to ensure the organisation is operating in a manner that supports the vision and mission of the organisation as well the needs of our clients, carers, and staff, while ensuring full adherence to all legal financial requirements, thorough audit and reporting mechanisms in place.
- Organisational management, including ensuring robust operational policies, procedures, systems and infrastructure, including robust M&E systems to inform strategy and service delivery, HR systems to support organisational and individual performance management, are in place, and ensuring highest ethical standards are upheld throughout the organisation, while ensuring that there is overall organisational compliance, and effective risk management.
- Fund raising and donor relations: Lead fundraising efforts for exciting new opportunities to scale the work of Robin Trust, manage donor relations, and secure capital for growth and expansion. Robin Trust is financially stable and does not need to fundraise urgently.

REGISTERED NURSE – ROBIN TRUST COMMUNITY CARE @ HOME UNIT
Closing date: 2 April 2026
Our Community Care@Home unit places home-based care workers with patients / clients in both private homes and institutions. Reporting to the Community Car @Home Unit Manager, the RN will implement all unit activities and services.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE:
- Provision of clinical care to patients as required
- Conducting home visits and auditing of client files
- Reporting on client’s health to doctors and staff
- Hardworking and vibrant
- Used to driving daily to visit clients
- Selection of care workers to join the panel
- Conducting orientation, training and skills development workshops for Carers.
- Managing conduct and performance issues with carers if necessary
- Demonstrates due process in carer discipline
- Developing appropriate marketing strategies and partnerships for the Community Care @ Home unit
- Overseeing all administrative processes including the issuing of carer contracts, verification of timesheet and payments, dealing with medical aids and medical facilities
- Ensuring that quality assessments and Letters of Motivation are completed, and that feedback is reviewed, prioritised and actioned as necessary
- Conducting detailed patient/client assessments either at the patient’s home or in a medical facility
- Conducting patient assessments prior to admittance to the Robin Trust Sub Acute facility (in conjunction with medical aid partners and programmes)
- Selecting panellists for specific patients and ensuring that a full-on site orientation is conducted with the carer at the commencement of the assignment
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE YOU WILL NEED:
- To be a registered Nurse with up-to-date SANC registration and membership
- +10 years of clinical practice coupled with relevant community health and managed health care work experience (ICD 10 codes)
- Valid driver’s licence and a good geographic knowledge of Cape Town and environs
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to function effectively unsupervised and in high pressure environments
- High levels of empathy
- Good staff management experience
- Knowledge of disciplinary procedures, enquiries and grievances.
- The ability to manage administrative responsibilities with the delivery of patient care
- To be a team player
- Good computer skills and app skills on phone
- Be able to do call every 3rd week
